| I am delighted to see on the Clubs part of the Boat Register that due to inertia on some peoples' behalf, Llangorse SC (my delightful inland club in the Brecon Beacons) has the 5th biggest racing fleet of Fireflies in the Country. No doubt then that we should hold the Inlands, have a Vines Open Meeting and if we can prove we are linked to the seaside through the River Wye, perhaps hold the Championships too.... May I suggest some clubs make more of an effort to list their Fireflies and then attract more surely? By the way we'd love more Fireflies at LSC! | |

| Llangorse Lake is a eutrophic glacial lake with a 5 miles (8.0 km) circumference covering an area of 327 acres (1.32 km2). The lake is 1-mile (1.6 km) long and 154 m above sea level[2]. The lake is sited between the basins of the River Wye to the north and the River Usk to the south and was formed by debris deposited by melting glaciers trapping water on a plateau over time. The water eventually spilled over this barrier forming the Afon Llynfi stream. Jaws did live here....The supposed largest pike caught by rod in the UK was caught in Llangorse Lake in 1846 by O.Owen and weighed 68lbsł Inlands, Vines or The Nats, which is it? |
